Don’t Drink the Kool Aid in Idaho!
I have made the long haul from Durango back up North to Pocatello, Idaho and my old stomping grounds. I have a couple of weeks inbetween races and decided that it would be a good time to get up here for some training with no distractions. Durango can be to much fun after a block of racing. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy having a good time, but sometimes I get carried away. One night of fun turns into a week long bender and some road rash from crashing on the town bike.
I was cruising out on the edge of town today and I saw a couple little girls in front of the LDS church selling Kool Aid. It was super hot and about 95 degrees out but I had no money with me. Then I remembered what a friend had said about Idaho as a joke and LDS being the fastest growing religion on the planet. “Don’t drink the Kool Aid man!” No wonder people are signing up left and right. It’s the Kool Aid!
Everyone has the story of going home and running into the people they grew up with doing the same thing as when they left ten years before. That pretty much summs it up here. I can’t say that I miss to much of my old life here. I do miss some good friends and also the sweet trails. Seriously, there are some unreal trails that people have no idea about. Some of the best riding on the planet. For the most part, I feel like moving on was definitely the right decisoin.
That’s about all that is going on in my world. I will have a post up about Tour de Beauce later and hopefully some photos if Curtis would figure out what is up with my account!

Ryon-No Deer Valley National? I am definitely up for a brew. Shoot me an email. Maybe Thursday? Rode up Kinport via Cussick Creek and some new trails up there today. The mountain biking is unreal here and undiscovered.
