Road Season Over!

Maybe a visit back to the Tetons this fall is in order for a recharge

Maybe a visit back to the Tetons this fall is in order for a recharge

The last couple races have not been much to write about.  No excuses, just creeping right now.  That is what happens when you try to hold good form for to long. At some point, you have to hit the reset button and do some serious rest, followed by some good training.  I have been resting after races and training, but no real good blocks of rest followed with a hard long block.

Univest Grand Prix was yesterday. We had a terrible day. Hurricane Hannah decided to drop in on Pennsylvania and give us some awesome wet conditions.  The course was awesome, but with 125 guys and half of them being amateur, it made for some sketch racing.

Jared decided to throw himself down on the pavement in a corner and had to get some staples. Not stitches, they gave him staples.  I guess the doctor was a complete jerk.  He didn’t do any numbing of the area at all, just went to town on the wound! Staples and all, no numbing of te nerves at all! Jared got 8 staples straight up medieval style.  He said he almost passed out.  Neil crashed as well when it was absolutely going.  I got a flat tire and chased through the cars for a bit.  When I finally got back on the group it was single file and gaps were opening everywhere.  I couldn’t even see the front.  It was a bummer.  I wanted to at least have a good fun race here but it wasn’t to be.

So now, we have our last crit this morning as the Jittery Joe’s Team.  We are all looking towards next season already.  Most of us are already pursuing new teams as Jittery Joe’s is most likely going to be an amateur team.  I will try to hold onto some kind of form for the upcoming cyclocross season, but after that it is time for a little break.  Check out my first of many cyclocross articles on Velo News.  Cross Vegas will be my season kick off, and after that I will be focusing on the Grand Prix’s.

Saw some of your Jittery Joe’s mates racing in Michigan this weekend…considerably better weather. Sorry to hear the team is moving away from pro sponsorship. The domestic road scene is rough this year!

Anyway, thanks for the awesome new computer background with your Tetons photo. Good luck with the cross!

Your a dumbass bagging on Amateur’s. first of all your team sucks and so do you. How much does Jittery Joes Pay you?? I am sure like all the other suck ass pro’s that fill the US Peleton you are working for free. So next time you and your team get a shitty result accept the fact that you guys suck and the Amateur’s have nothing to do with it. What happened at Priority Health did you guys get beat by a bunch of skeetch Amateur’s?

I watched the Univest race on the web and it really looked bad. Made me glad that I don’t make my living racing a bike. Watched the crit the next day and saw one of the guys crash with a lap or two to go. Bad luck!
I will be following your cross exploits this season so have fun.
Best of luck in finding a team and know that you are welcome to stay here if you ever make it to Ohio.

Ken,
Your an absolute tossa! You wouldn’t know the first thing about pro cycling, clearly! Jealous, sounds like it? Did you never make it past the juniors? Working 9-5 and hate life? Maybe you should reflct your life and if you don’t want to read what Matt has to say get back to work. Your boss should be looking over your shoulder any minute.

Your a legend Matty!!!
